Gail (Baker) Johnson went to be with the Lord Tuesday July 5, 2011.
What a great day for Gail who loved the Lord so much but what a sad day for her earthly family. Sisters Billie Sharron (deceased), Kay Curry, Linda Warrick, Margaret Black, Jane Pierce and Cookie Arendt all will miss their loving sister.
Her children, Crystal Langston of Fayetteville, AR, Kim Anderson of Calion, Lori Johnson of Warren, AR, Baker Johnson of Crossett, AR and David Johnson of West Monroe, LA will miss their mother in many ways. May God Bless them in their mourning.
Personally, Gail was an inspiration to me for several of the past years. Gail, like all of us made good decisions and bad decisions early in her life. It could be said that Gail endured many years with a level of adversity that most of us would never be able to handle. Yet, even with the most difficult of situations, Gail, in her own way, made sure that her children were taken care of, giving them love and then working so hard to help them in any way possible, usually at the point of doing without herself. Gail, without fanfare, acclaim or much attention, displayed her courage and strength. Gail was proud of her family and through her difficulties and adversities worked hard to become humble and to constantly contribute to the proud legacy of her family. This endurance was indeed an inspiration to me and I will always see that as an example for me to follow.
Gail found the Lord in her later years and she became one of the best Christians one could find. For you see, being a Christian was easy for Gail because she was such a good and loving person before God became the center of her life that once God became her center, she was able to be a great example with ease. Gail worked at the Warren Hospital for many years (38 as a matter of fact) and consequently cared for many people in Warren in their physical sicknesses and witnessing as a loving, caring Christian and humble human being.
She raised five children to be successful, happy and loving people. Gail will be missed but we all know she is "Walking In Jerusalem Just Like John" with Jimmy, Hazel, Billie and a host of family and friends.

Down A Gravel Road
Welcome to the Adventures of Living On Curry Road
Rye, Arkansas is located eleven miles north of Warren, AR, fifteen miles west of Monticello, AR and approximately thirty miles south of Pine Bluff, AR. Rye has been the home of the Curry family for over five generations. This family has farmed this land producing cattle, chickens, timber. The area is beautiful and the family culture is equally impressive with its generations of family that continue to live by the standards that made America a great country.
Rye, AR and the Curry family are a story of strong American values and the building of personal character, the love of God and a lot of very hard dedicated work. Donald Curry and Kay Curry are the current owners of most of the original farm land originally developed by the generations of Curry family. Kay Curry is the daughter of Jimmy and Hazel Baker and married Donald over fifty years ago. Both have continued the legacy of the farm life on Curry Road. Donald and Kay have raised a family of two daughters and one son. Mark Curry currently operates a cattle operation as well as four chicken houses on his part of the property. Lisa Tooke, wife of Dennis Tooke of Lake Charles, La and Donna Curry, of Little Rock, AR plan to retire back to the farm land when thier retirement time comes.
Jane and I were asked to help in a restoration of the 104 year old house shown above. We are so blessed to be allowed to have input as well as provide a labor of love to help restore this house to its original beauty for Donald and Kay Curry
As Jane and I came into the property with our RV, we came down the gravel road leading to Curry Road. We came down this gravel road and had to stop and take a picture. We are including that picture with this overview so you too can see the beauty of this area.
It reminded us of the book “The Painted House” by John Grisham and we hope you will get the same response.
